I'm a pine tree in a field of flowers.
Orchids, lilies, and roses.
I'm not as pretty, a bit unsightly;
But I can see for miles.
You will not pick me. I won't be taken.
I will outlast, I will outlast them all.

As a sapling I grew up quickly.
Nourished by my surroundings.
The taller I got I found it harder;
To blend in with the crowd.
Because a pine tree in a field of flowers;
Will always be slightly out of place.

As a pine tree I stand here waiting.
The seasons they pass me by.
I breath the same air as all the flowers.
So many now I'm being smothered.
Their vines and runners consume my branches.
And I the pine tree, I finally fall.
